When not involved with professional practice, I spend my off-hours reading about history and geography, being involved in the community, sampling craft beers and cocktails at my favorite dimly-lit bars, and exploring new places from the side streets of London to the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. At home, I enjoy listening to electronic music by artists such as Aphex Twin and Tripswitch, and watching atmospheric movies by the Coen brothers, David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, and other talented filmmakers.
I maintain a strong interest in trains and transit, and have volunteered for the Illinois Railway Museum and served on the leadership team of Seattle Subway, a local advocacy group that successfully pushed for the Sound Transit 3 ballot initiative, a $54 billion expansion of light rail, commuter rail, and express bus service throughout the Puget Sound region.
