Sentral First Hill is a 17-story apartment building with contemporary amenities and elegant finishes located in Seattle’s active First Hill neighborhood, adjacent to the downtown business district. The cast concrete structure is located on a challenging site that precluded access on two sides, necessitating the use of a precast concrete curtainwall system. Concrete panels with veneer brick were fabricated off-site and lifted into place, avoiding the need for extensive staging and scaffolding on the site. The veneer brick compliments nearby historic structures in the neighborhood, and a notch in the building massing accommodates above-ground utilities that were unable to be relocated. Ground floor retail spaces follow the steep slope of Madison Street adjacent to the site, and are designed to accommodate either multiple shops with street-level entrances, or a single large retail tenant with a single entrance.

Project responsibilities included construction documentation of the exterior envelope, including coordination with the owner, consultants, and the internal project team.
